Game

The weekend at Lorenzo’s parents’ house was a weekend of games. We started our Sunday by playing volleyball in the sun. I hadn’t played volleyball since high school. Lorenzo’s father called some neighbours to come play, sometimes their neighbours also come by to play when nobody is at home.

Then Anna and I played a game of four dimensional connect four. This magnificently crafted game was made by a Swiss artisan living in Ecuador, who makes an array of creative games from natural materials, with some of the same products we use for our jewellery. This particular game is made of very polished and half polished Tagua pieces, as well as Pambil wood for the board. The goal of the game is to achieve as many rows of four as you can. To give you an idea, here are two pictures of products we make with Tagua pieces (classic Tagua bracelet) and Pambil seeds (layered chain necklace).

Later on we played table tennis. It was so nice to just spend the day playing and being in a wonderfully lush garden. I hadn’t realised how much I missed just playing for a day, and I feel like days should be spent that way more often!

Love,

Chiara

    Chiara
