Quito recycled

I am always so inspired by the process of recycling to make products that are useful and fun. I have found some little treasures here in Quito too. One of those I have already shared with you on my previous blog on impressions from Quito
https://www.tonalitesdefemmes.com/2011/06/expressions-from-quito/, and the following ones are also from the Saturday artisan market on Plaza Foch in La Mariscal.

This is a container made from 2 upside down plastic bottles, as you will know plastic bottles are a huge source of global waste, and the bottom part is pretty sturdy, which makes these containers excellent long lasting commodities. Zo^eco is one of my favourite stands on the Plaza Foch market.

Zo^eco also make these awesome tire bags, I had to get one and I am so happy with it. These rubber recycled tire bags are also super sturdy and look great, like leather really. Mine is made out of car tire and bicycle tubes. They also make LP notebooks and bicycle chain jewellery like my much loved bracelet.

Another stand I cannot pass by without buying something, sells purses (of various sizes) made out of plastic bags, the latest one I have acquired is silver and perfect for a good night out : )

Hope you can also find cool recycled products where ever you are, they make great presents too!

Hugs from Quito!

Chiara

Very surprising that a city like Quito is improving in this modern way of sustainability. Was leaving there 20 years ago and we were far form that. Great blog!
