We will discover Ruth’s central ideas through her commitment to improve health care for the most disadvantaged. ‘Tonalités de Femmes’ also wants to shed light on the honours received by this ‘living legend’.

- Who is Ruth?
- Ruth is an exceptional American woman. She is the founder of ‘Developing Families Center/ Family Health and Birth Center’ based in Washington in the US. Having been married for more than 56 years, she is both a mother and grand-mother. Ruth lives between New York and Washington at the moment, while also staying very connected with the European continent, from which she draws many ideas about how to improve the quality of maternal health in her country.

- To spend some time with Ruth is a beautiful gift of life. Her passion, emotion, determination and commitment for women, children and families more generally is reflected in her professional career, always entirely focused on others. Ruth, 84 years old, is also a senior fellow of ‘Tonalités de Femmes’, a younger fellow than most of us. During the week we met with Ruth in London, she effortlessly covered a return journey between Washington and London, a one day conference, a meeting in Paris and an interview on our platform. What better inspiration could we possibly find?
